47 Illinois girls under 18 rank in the top 100 nationwide for their respective ages, 33 holding a rating higher than 1000.

Experts Shreya Mangalam, Marissa Li and Miranda Liu lead the way with ratings over 2000! 

Linda Pham has now moved from the Ages 7 & Under to the Age 8's category ranking #27 in the US. Happy belated birthday, Linda! Enkhjin Namuunbayar (Age 8), Lily Meegoda (Age 9), Stella Pashyan (Age 11) and Zhengxin-Cindy Tang (Age 15) earned their first mentions in the Top 100 Girls lists – keep up the progression!

Two girls from the Land of Lincoln – both 11 – recently saw a single-tournament increase of more than 100 points in their rating: Siya Chirag Jariwala and Sruthi Bharath Kumar.

A shout-out to Ashley Mei Yan who has reached 1700-territory and ranks 19th in the country (Age 13). Shreya Mangalam was able to gain 33 rating points in July, a nice-sized bump given her already impressive rating. She now ranks #5 among US 14-year olds.

Illinois boasts four female juniors in the top 25 of 17-year olds: Bethany Simos (1738), Shayna Provine (1737), Cassie Parent (1726) and Isha Gani (1630).

The lists are based on ratings achieved and processed by the third Wednesday of the prior month, in this case July 19, 2017.
