Call for Bids for 2024 Illinois Class Championship
The ICA is seeking bids for the 2024 Illinois Class Championship. We are expressing a strong preference for a one day event with slower time controls. Bids are due by April 15, 2024. The bid will be awarded on May 1, 2024. In order for a bid to be considered, the accompanying bid table must be completed.
The following points should be considered:
Date: The preferred date is Sunday, November 24th.
Sections: There should be seven sections: Master/Expert, Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D, U1200, and U800.
Format: The preferred format is 4SS G/60; d5 for Master/Expert, Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D. The preferred time control 4SS G/45; d5 for U1200 and U800
Prize Fund: Minimum $2000 prize fund recommended. Trophies for U1200 and U800.
ICA Donation: It is suggested that the organizer donates $5 per participant to the ICA within 30 days.

2024 Illinois Open Bid Specs
The ICA is seeking bids for the 2024 Illinois Open State Championship. We are expressing a strong preference for a three or four day event with slow time controls with at least six rounds. Bids are due by February 29th 2024. The bid will be awarded on March 13, 2024. In order for a bid to be considered, the accompanying bid table must be completed.
The following points should be considered:
Dates: Auguest 30 - September 2
Sections: Open (open to all) and Reserve (under 1800 or unrated) or similar. It is strongly preferred that at least two sections are FIDE rated. Other section options are at discretion of organizer.
Format: 3-day option - Aug 31-Sept. 2 , G/90+30; 2-day option - Sept. 1-2, then merge with 3-day at rd. 4. 4-day is also an option.
Side Events: Labor day weekend scholastic side event suggested on Saturday August 31; Illinois Blitz Championship suggested on evening of Sunday 9/1
Prize Fund: Minimum $10,000 prize fund recommended.
ICA Donations: It is suggested that the organizer donates $5 per player in each event to the ICA within 30 days.

Call for bids 2024 Illinois All Grade Bid Specs
The ICA is seeking bids for the 2024 Illinois All Grade. Bids are due by March 13, 2024. The bid will be awarded on April 3, 2024. In order for a bid to be considered, the accompanying bid table must be completed.
The following points should be considered:
Date: November 2 or November 9
Sections: 13; sections by grade K-12. If the number of entries is low in grades 9-12, organizer has the option of combining grades 9-12 into one section
Number of days: 1
Number of rounds: 5 rounds for grades K-5; 4 rounds for grades 6-12,
Location: Upstate
Time control: For K-3, G/30; d5, for 4-5, G/45; d5, for 6-12, G/60; d5.
*Suggested Entry Fee: $50
*ICA Donations: It is suggested that the organizer donates $5 per player to the ICA within 30 days.
Site: Most commonly a hotel or school
Residency requirements: Teams and individuals must be Illinois residents or attend an Illinois school. No exceptions will be made.
Books and equipment: A bookstore/equipment vendor is strongly preferred.
Prizes: Trophies
3 Team Trophies per each grade in K-1; 6-8
3 Team Trophies for combined 9-12 section
5 Team Trophies per each grade in 2-5
10 Individual Trophies for each grade K-1
Medals or other keepsake item recommended for all other K-1 players
15 Individual Trophies for each grade 2-5
10 Individual Trophies for each grade 6-8
3 Individual Trophies for each grade 9-12

* The suggested entry has been raised by $5 to compensate for the $3-$4 increase in contributions to the ICA.

The bid will be awarded on July 6, 2023. In order for a bid to be considered, the accompanying bid table must be completed.
The following points should be considered:
Date: The preferred date is Sunday, November 19th.
Sections: There should be seven sections: Master/Expert, Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D, U1200, and U800.
Format: The preferred format is 4SS G/60; d5 for Master/Expert, Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D. The preferred time control 4SS G/45; d5 for U1200 and U800
