TIEBREAKS: the order of tiebreaks for team and individual prizes is Solkoff, Cumulative Opposition, Cumulative, Modified Median.
First time players are welcome. Good preparation can consist of games, tutorials and tactics on lichess.org
This is a National Event limited to players who are rated below 2200. If you would like to face stronger opponents, the Great Lakes Festival is held simultaneously: it offers cash prizes and is FIDE rated.
Notation is mandatory for the entire game (except for Round 1 of the 2-day schedule).
Accelerated pairings might be used.
Organizers reserve the right to choose the highest of the published ratings (Regular, Rapid, Online Regular, Online Rapid, FIDE) for the purpose of section selection, pairings, and prizes. Only regular ratings are affected by this event.

- 3-day entries after 6:30pm Friday receive ½-point bye for round 1
- 2-day entries after 8:30am Saturday receive ½-point bye for round 1
- 1/2 point byes OK all rounds, must commit before round 1 (maximum 2); please email organizers
- TIME CONTROLS AND PLAYING SCHEDULE
3-day: G/90+30 second increment
- Friday 7:00pm
- Saturday 11:00am, 4:00pm
- Sunday 10:00am, 3:00pm
2-day: Round 1: g/30+5 second increment, then merges with 3-day schedule
- Saturday: 9:00am
- Saturday: 11:00am, 4:00pm
- Sunday: 10:00am, 3:00pm
Hotel has no outside food/drink policy in the meeting rooms and public spaces (personal water bottles are ok).
Refund Policy: If you register for the tournament and are unable to make it, please notify us at least one hour in advance of the start of round one. If this is done, then the IAC will refund your entry fee less the cost of online registration ($1) and payment processing ($0.30 + 2.9% of the entry fee.)
