Bronfeyn Grabs January Evanston Tri-Level Gold

With both Ken Wallach and Albert Chow taking two draws, Daniel Bronfeyn's 3.5/4 was the highest score in the January 21 Evanston Tri-Level's Gold Section.
Bronfeyn drew FM Albert Chow in the third round, while US Chess Master Wallach drew his final two matches against Roman Kowalysko and Zach Coffman. Chow also drew Kowalysko in the final round.
Six players finished with 3.0/4 points in the 28-player section including Wallach, Chow, Kowalysko, Coffman along with Jordan Cohen and Marissa Li.
In the Under 1700 Silver Section, Patrick Groenendijk posted the top score of 3.5/4. Groenendijk defeated previously-perfect Michael McNalley in the final round, with McNalley posting one of three 3.0/4 scores -- along with Roger Li and Isha Gani.
19 participated in the section.
11 played it out in the Bronze U1200 section with Arin Nair running the table, four-for-four. Maya Ross was a half-point back in second place with 3.5/4, followed by Brooklyn Li in third place with two wins and a full-point bye.
All three sections featured Game/40 time controls with a 5-second delay, with 56 players listed as playing.
