Franklin, a strong Expert -- and a DePaul law professor -- provided guidance and wisdom on a number of topics during his tenure on the board.

Kevin Taylor, already a board member at large, assumed the Chicagoland vice president role in August and will serve out the remaining few months of the term.

Murrel Rhodes continues to serve as the downstate vice president.

The Madigan announcement came in July but the reporter just learned of Franklin's departure over the weekend. Minutes of ICA Board meetings for the past nine months have not been made public.

According to the ATG office press release:

As Solicitor General, Franklin will oversee more than 40 attorneys in Madigan’s Appellate Division who work on behalf of the state, its officers and agencies.

The Solicitor General oversees attorneys’ work in the U.S. Supreme Court, Illinois Supreme Court and the federal and state appellate courts.

The ICA congratulates Mr. Franklin and wishes him well!
