Entry Fee - Online Only:

• $5 through May 18th
• $10 through June 18th
• $15 through June 19th, 12:30 PM.

Format & Schedule:

4 Round Swiss System, G/30; d5

Each player is guaranteed four games (unless they receive a bye.) We will work to provide a "house game" for any bye rounds.

Byes: Two half-point byes available for any round must commit before the end of round 2.

Round Schedule:

Round 1 at 1:30 PM.

Rounds 2-4 will follow ASAP, as soon as everyone is done playing (please don't leave the playing area!).

Each round will roughly take an hour. We anticipate conclusion around 5:30 PM.

Equipment: Boards, sets, scoresheets and clocks provided by Caveman Chess, LLC.

Tournament Check-in:

No tournament check-in at the site is needed. Just verify your registration online before the tournament. If there are issues that require making changes to your registration, please visit cavechess.cc/change.

Prizes:

This event has no prizes - it is for fun only.

US Chess Membership:

A US Chess membership is an official, paid subscription to the United States Chess Federation (USCF), necessary for playing in rated tournaments. It provides a national rating, subscriptions to Chess Life or Chess Life Kids magazines, and support for chess events and growth across the US.

Rules and Scorekeeping:

US Chess rules apply to these tournaments. You will be expected to notate/keep score (write down your moves), but we will offer some flexibility for children younger than 7. However, to improve at chess, it is important to write down the moves so the game may be reviewed afterward.

Transportation:

-> The hotel is located just 5 -10 minutes from O’Hare Airport , traffic dependent. Participants can also take the Blue Line “L” from O’Hare to the first stop, and then walk half a mile to the hotel.
-> Shuttle Service: There is a shuttle service available from the hotel to O’Hare Airport.
